Education & Support on Your Journey

From antenatal workshops to pregnancy care to practical and informational support, Globebaby Doula has you covered.

Workshops

Offering you workshops and support which not only informs you about the birthing process but also prepares you for all outcomes, educates you on your options, fills you with confidence and empowers you to achieve a birthing experience where you are in control.

Exploring Birth

My workshops have everything you would normally have to sign up for several different workshops to get. Within my Exploring Birth workshop, you will learn hypnobirthing, comfort measures and optimal positioning for labour and birth, navigating the system and advocacy, partner roles, infant feeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and so much more.

Exploring Birth is an extremely comprehensive, all-inclusive workshop which has helped 100s of pregnant people and birth partners (including fellow doulas) in Ireland and around the world since it’s launch in 2020.

I also offer these workshops on a private basis and in-person in the comfort of your own home. All private workshops are tailored to your specific needs and wants.

Exploring VBAC

Birth after cesarean can be mind boggling, confusing, and sometimes quite emotional.

As an Advanced VBAC Doula, I am here to lighten the load a little with evidence based information, support and, workshops, and most of all, with compassionate care. I will inform you of all your options, how to navigate the system, advocate for yourself, to be more prepared for your upcoming birth and much more.

My VBAC support and workshops have conquering fear and building confidence at their very core. I always ensure that you are well-informed and ready to make choices based on what is best for you through offering you the most up-to-date evidence based information and research.

Having a trusted professional ready to answer your questions and address your concerns, might just be exactly what you need for birth after cesarean.

Antenatal Doula Support

As a full-spectrum doula, I pride myself in offering antenatal support which is confidence boosting, empowering and compassionate.

Pregnancy isn’t always straight forward, you are not expected to know everything about your new pregnant body or your growing baby, and it isn’t always easy to get your questions answered at your antenatal appointments which can be quite disappointing.

Having me as your doula means that you will have a trained and experienced professional that you can trust, in your back pocket (or wherever you keep your phone) ready to answer your questions and address your concerns. I will be there for you from the day we decide to work together, and right the way through. I offer non-judgemental, compassionate, evidence based care ensuring that I am only every giving you the most up-to-date information so that you feel more at ease on your journey.

From unlimited text support to antenatal visits and catch-ups, you can be sure that you, and your partner (should you have one) will feel fully supported with my continuity of care right the way through.

Being a full-spectrum doula also means that I am there, not only during the happiest of times but also through the most difficult times with the compassion, care and practical support that you need to get you through the darkness.

Birth Support

If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.

Dr John Kennell, founder of DONA International, expresses the importance of doula support in this very simple and straightforward sentence.

The truth is the difference in having a doula and not having a doula is like night and day. It can change your whole birthing experience knowing that you have a trusted professional, who you have already built a relationship with antenatally, by your side, ensuring that you are getting all the information, know exactly what is happening, feeling comfortable, offering practical support and advocating for you.

Your doula instinctively knows what to do during labour and birth to make you feel more comfortable and confident leading to better birthing outcomes. In fact the evidence shows that doula support can have a very positive effect on birth:

  • 39% decrease in risk of cesarean birth

  • 15% increase in spontaneous vaginal birth

  • 10% decrease in needing pain medication

  • 38% decrease in risk of baby’s low APGAR score at 5 mins

  • 31% decrease in dissatisfaction with birth experience

  • Shorter labours

Whether you are having a hospital birth or a home birth, a planned vaginal birth or a cesarean, your plan is to have a medicated or an unmedicated birth, I am here to support you and your choices. I am here to address your concerns, answer your questions, and hold space for you as you prepare to meet your baby and am here to stay to support you and comfort you during your labour and birth.

During labour and birth, I offer various supports to both you and your partner, should you have one. I am there as part of your birth team and at no point do I take anyone else’s place. I am there to guide you, should you need guidance, offer comfort measures and position changes, to advocate for you and to ensure that you are feeling supported, heard, and empowered at all times. In essence, I am there to protect your birth space, however that looks to you.

I have various birth packages and would be happy to arrange a call with you to chat about them and about how I can support you and make your birth a memorable birth for all the right reasons.
